Spiro's South has been serving the St. Louis area since 1977 and our object was, and always will be, to serve “quality food at a fair price accompanied by a superb quality of friendly service.
All together there are five restaurants in the St. Louis area that have a direct tie to the Karagiannis family. They evolved out of the original Spiro’s on Natural Bridge which was started in 1977 by our uncle, Spiro. Our restaurant, Spiro’s South, is located at 3122 Watson Road just minutes from Highways 40 and 44. We have been serving St. Louis for almost 30 years.For most of those years Spiro’s South was owned and operated by our parents, Bill and Bessie Stratos. We grew up working in the restaurant and now our children are learning the special recipes and hospitalities that make Sprio’s South one of the finest restaurants in St. Louis.
We make everything we serve right here, in our kitchen. When our friends come to eat we feed them like family. Most items are cooked to your specifications. We believe that patience is a virtue and makes for a wonderful meal.
While you wait for your perfect entrée, you will enjoy a serving of warm homemade breads and butter. Ask any of our devoted staff to prepare saganaki (or flaming cheese) at your table. You’ll be served a delicious goat cheese, doused with brandy and set on fire. Get ready to yell, “OOOMMMPPAH!”as the flames leap high into the air. Sprinkle it generously with fresh lemon and enjoy!
From lamb chops to steak Diane, you will find our entree menu varied and delightful. Even a vegetarian can find plenty of delicious selections at Spiro’s and, if you don’t find exactly what you want, just ask for something special from the chef’s menu.
